Strategy master class by George Thorpe George Thorpe, a renowned marketing guru and business thinker, Mr. Thorpe worked as the Subcontinent marketing director for Sterling Products, coordinating the marketing activities in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Africa and the Subcontinent, he later returned to Nigeria after 2 and the half years to become the MD/CEO of Sterling Products (Nigeria) PLC now Smithkline Beecham at the young age 41. He is currently the Chairman IMS Group and CEO of Market Space, a marketing consulting firm Mr.Thorpe spoke on “Strategic planning in a recession”, and his talk focused on 3 pillars on which every marketing plan must build on; effective marketing plans must be research led, market based and must have a long term perspective…..
